Open Positions:

MORTGAGE LOAN OFFICER – CHERRY CREEK
This position is responsible for developing mortgage business through internal and external sources to achieve sales and growth objectives. This position also conducts loan interviews, consults members, offers financial alternatives and achieves closed loan volume goals by providing superior member service. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Develops and implements sales plan to generate mortgage business in assigned branches/market areas.  This includes servicing existing membership base and new business development from outside sources.
• Generates and reviews loan applications/documentation for completeness and initiates loan process by performing initial DeskTop Underwriting (DU) input within prescribed timeliness and quality standards.
• Insures Rate Lock Confirmation Policies and Procedures are adhered to.
• Insures all appropriate application disclosures are issued within required timeframes to meet compliance standards.
• Conducts thorough interviews with members to assess and meet their financial needs.
• Cross-sells and markets Credit Union services to increase volume of all loan and deposit products.
• Maintain knowledge of all guidelines pertaining to consumer credit laws, federal, and state regulations to ensure the Credit Union is in compliance.
• Performs duties according to established department policies and adheres to Credit Union procedures. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor degree in Business Administration (or equivalent work experience)
• One (1) year of lending experience in a financial institution
• Knowledge of fiscal management and loan policies and procedures
• Knowledge of real estate financing desirable
• Demonstrated sales skills   

FINANCIAL SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE – AURORA CITY PLACE
This position is responsible for processing member financial requests including establishing new member relationships; online banking, eStatement and bill pay set-ups; research requests; stop payments; notary services; wire transfers and monetary transactions.  This position will also identify the financial needs of new and existing members through open-ended interviewing techniques and utilizing tools (e.g. the credit bureau) to identify appropriate products and services for each member.  Presents appropriate features and benefits, and explains Westerra products and services to meet identified needs.  Asks for action and closes or refers (“cross-sells”).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Performs all duties in accordance with department and credit union policies and procedures.
• Collects required documentation and signatures from members to comply with all laws and regulations.
• Processes consumer loan requests.
• Closes consumer loans with documents prepared by others.
• Performs file maintenance and account changes as needed.
• Answers questions and solves problems for members by listening to problems, collecting data, securing answers and reporting results.
• Consistently demonstrates Credit Union service standards, providing a level of service that is recognized by members as exceptional.
• Actively works to assist the branch to reach its goals and participates fully in branch and Credit Union sales tactics.
• Performs tasks to support branch operations, including teller, branch opening and closing, vault management, security and maintenance.
• Demonstrates the mission, vision and values of Westerra Credit Union in all dealings with employees, members and others.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma; GED
• Previous credit union or financial institution experience
• Must be sales focused and have sales aptitude
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Computer literate in Windows environment

• Detail oriented, strong organization skills

TELLER – CHERRY CREEK
This position is responsible for processes member (and shared branch) account requests including deposits, cash withdrawals, transfers, teller checks, cashier’s checks, loan payments, account balances, loan advances, and account history.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Maintains cash controls and balances drawer daily.
• Prepares daily teller work to ensure accurate posting of transactions.
• Assists members with basic account reconciliation and problem resolution.
• Provides information to members about Credit Union products and services, including savings options, rates, available loans, and convenience services.
• Performs all duties in accordance with department and Credit Union policies and procedures, and answers members’ questions about them.
• Collects required documentation and signatures from members to comply with all laws and regulations.
• Consistently demonstrates Credit Union service standards, providing a level of service that is recognized by members as exceptional.

ACCOUNTING MANAGER
This position is responsible for providing leadership and directing and overseeing the Accounting department in member account processing, maintaining financial records and data and regulatory reporting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Maintains the financial records of the Credit Union to comply with policy, regulations and generally accepted accounting principles.
• Oversees the accurate and timely preparation of monthly financial statements and reports to keep management and members informed as appropriate.
• Oversees the posting of back-office transactions to ensure accurate and timely posting of transactions and record-keeping.
• Oversees reporting to regulatory agencies.
• Provides timely and accurate analysis of financial reports and financial trends in order to assist management and the Board in performing their responsibilities.
• Reviews financial information and transactions to ensure accuracy.
• Provides leadership, planning and guidance to staff so the Accounting Department operates efficiently and effectively.
• Develops and oversees the execution of departmental action plan items in support of the Credit Union strategic business plan.
• Develops and maintains department procedures to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the department.
• Assures that Credit Union policy is followed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILIITES:

The Accounting Manager is the direct supervisor of all staff within the department.  The Accounting Manager is responsible for all activities within the accounting department.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor degree in accounting, finance or related field
• Minimum five (05) years of management level accounting and supervisory experience
• CPA
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, bookkeeping, and accounts payable and receivable
• Financial institution experience desired
• Knowledge of credit union rules, regulations and procedures
• Foresight, analytical ability, systematic and strong organizational and project management skills
• Strong leadership skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to read and interpret financial reports

FINANCE MANAGER/LOWRY BRANCH
We currently have a unique opportunity for the right individual to develop our newly created Finance department. This position will also be responsible for directing and overseeing financial analysis and forecasting for the Credit Union, asset/liability management and investment/cash management for the Credit Union.

  • Prepares the Credit Union budget and financial forecasts, including analyzing and reporting on variances.
  • Provides timely and accurate analysis of budgets, cash flow projections, financial reports and financial trends in order to assist management and the Board in performing their responsibilities.
  • Makes recommendations to management regarding cost saving or profit generating opportunities and profitability improvement strategies.
  • Performs financial analytics, including pricing analysis, and provides recommendations to management.
  • Regularly partners with other departments and learns their operations in order to provide information and analysis to support business strategies, pricing decisions and budgeting.
  • Assists the Vice President of Finance in the management of the investment portfolio and cash position.
  • Leads the Asset/Liability Management function.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to staff so the Finance Department operates effectively.
  • Develops and maintains department procedures to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the department.
  • Assures that Credit Union policy is followed.

The Finance Manager is the direct supervisor of at least one Financial Analyst. The Finance Manager is responsible for all activities within the Finance Department.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor degree in finance, accounting or related field
  • Five (5) years of management level finance experience
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, analytics, ALM, investing and cash management
  • MBA or CPA desired
  • Financial institution experience desired
  • Foresight, analytical ability, systematic and strong organizational and project management skills

PROJECT LEAD/LOWRY BRANCH
This position is responsible for planning and executing essential projects of the Accounting, Finance and Compliance departments, including projects related to general ledger and system issues.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Manages projects within constraints of scope, quality, time and cost indicated by management.
  • Acts a liaison between management and staff on projects and system-related issues.
  • Researches and implements process improvements to increase operational efficiencies.
  • Makes recommendations to management regarding cost savings or profit generating opportunities.
  • Designs, develops and analyzes reports to assist with efficiencies and cost-control.
  • Develops and maintains departmental procedures.
  • Actively partners with other departments on projects.
  • Other duties as assigned, which may include:
        - Assistance with budget preparation, including cash flow projections, financial trends, variance analysis
        - Annual unclaimed property reporting
        - Annual 1099 balancing, proof, and corrections
        - Annual calculation of tenant pass-through expenses
        - Assist with facilitating examinations and internal and external audits of the Credit Union and implementation recommendations
        - Fixed asset inventory
        - Merger related projects and activities
        - Re-engineering of A/P processes
        - Assistance with annual tax filings for CUSO and Credit Union (1120, 990, 990-T)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • Two (2) years accounting experience; accounting supervisory experience preferred
  • CPA desired
  • Financial institution experience preferred
  • Foresight, analytical ability, systematic, and strong organizational and project management skills
  • Able to work independently and with limited supervision
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with advanced Excel skills required
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to read and interpret financial reports
