As a credit union, we like to keep things local. Anyone can join Westerra who lives or works in the 7-county Denver metro area, is an immediate family member of any Westerra member, or contributes $5 to the Denver Public Schools Foundation. To become a member, you must open a share savings account with a $5 deposit, which is put on hold and represents your partial Westerra Credit Union ownership. This deposit makes you not only a member, but an owner-member — with access to better rates and lower fees.
No, rewards are currently only being offered to friends of members who open a qualifying Smart Money Checking or Money Market Select accounts.
There are no monthly maintenance fees for either account type.
Follow the link to easily open your new account online. Within 30 days of opening your account, make sure you deposit at least $25 into your account to fund it and keep a minimum balance of $25 for 30 days from the date of account opening. Once you’ve met these requirements, within 30 business days we’ll send your friend an email to redeem their digital gift card.
Refer a Friend
To participate, individuals must be legal residents of the United States of America and at least 18 years of age. Referrers are required to visit the Refer a Friend site and complete the on-screen referral form to refer friends, family members, or colleagues. Referred individuals must be new members to be eligible. Upon making a referral, the individual shall be designated as a “Referrer” and will receive subsequent communications regarding the bonus awarded. Referred individuals (“Friend” or “Friends”) must complete the referral process by opening either a Smart Money Checking or Money Market Select account.
Eligibility Requirements:
1) A Referrer must be a member of Westerra in good standing. 2) Referred Friends must be at least 18 years of age and must be new members of Westerra. 3) Employees, officials, and volunteers of the Company are eligible to participate. 4) A $5 prime share deposit is required for membership. 5) A $25 opening deposit is required for a Smart Money Checking or Money Market Select account. 6) To qualify for the bonus, a minimum balance of $25 must be maintained for 30 days from the date of account opening.
